Dubai Visa for Indians: The Simplest Gateway to the Gulf

Dubai is the most popular international destination for Indian travellers — and the visa situation is straightforward. Since 2023, Indian passport holders have been eligible for a visa on arrival (VoA) for up to 30 days at Dubai International Airport, making Dubai one of the easiest premium international destinations accessible to Indians. No advance application, no embassy visit, no interview — just land, queue, stamp, and go.

Visa on Arrival (VoA) — Current Rules 2025

Indian passport holders with a valid US visa, UK visa, or EU/Schengen visa (used or unused, valid for at least 6 months) are eligible for visa on arrival in Dubai. Additionally, since October 2023, all valid Indian passports are eligible for Dubai VoA regardless of other visas held. At the immigration counter, you'll be given a 30-day stay stamp which can be extended for another 30 days from inside the UAE.

VoA Eligibility Check: Always verify the latest VoA rules before booking, as UAE immigration policies can change. As of May 2025, Indian passport holders receive a free 30-day VoA at Dubai Airport. Carry ₹20,000–₹25,000 in USD or credit card proof of funds as immigration officers may ask for evidence of financial means.

Dubai Tourist Visa: Apply in Advance

If you prefer to arrive with a confirmed visa (recommended for peace of mind), apply for a pre-arrival tourist visa through:

30-day single-entry tourist visa fee: AED 300 (approximately ₹6,700) plus a processing fee. 60-day single-entry visa: AED 650 (approximately ₹14,500). 90-day multi-entry visa: AED 1,000 (approximately ₹22,500). Processing: 3–5 working days.

Transit Visa for Dubai

Transiting through Dubai (connecting flight within 24 hours) requires no visa — you stay in the international transit zone. For layovers of 24–96 hours where you want to exit the airport, a Transit Visa (48-hour, free of charge) is available through Emirates Airlines if you're flying Emirates. Book a stopover package through Emirates.com.

Getting to Dubai from India

Dubai is India's most well-connected international destination. IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJet, GoAir, and Emirates fly from virtually every major Indian city to Dubai International Airport (DXB) or the newer Al Maktoum International (DWC). Return fares are some of the most competitive in the market: ₹8,000–₹22,000 from Mumbai, Delhi, or Bengaluru during non-peak periods. Flight time: 3–3.5 hours.
